September 24th 2008: Matthew North, one of the "Children of Peru Foundation" active volunteer is a passionate Kickball player. He decided to mix his sport passion with his interest in helping out our foundation in making a difference for poor kids in Peru. So he built a kickball team, bringing friends and colleagues, called it "Team PerU" and signed it up for the WAKA New York Recess division!! He got 16 team members (see below) and they have 10 games to play to see who is the winner in December (end of the season). They plan to participate as well in the following competitions in the following quarters.

Their objective for this first quarter is to raise USD 2,000 to help fund the second building of the "Gustavo Mohme" high school in Huaycan (total cost approx. USD 10,000). Last year the "Children of Peru Foundation" financed the construction of the first building of the school and we want to take advantage of our strong relationship with "Samusocial Peru" to do it again this year as the kids of Huaycan deserve to have a proper school.

"Team PerU" plans to raise the money through personal and friends & family donations, as well as fundraising every Sunday when the Kickball games are played.

Matthew and his "Team PerU" expects to raise awareness about the "Children of Peru Foundation" and its projects among friends and Kickball players and, hopefully, reach their target by the end of the season, on December 2008.
