December 15th 2007: Objective reached! Congratulations to Christopher Kim who reached his objective to raise $ 5,000.00 for the "Children of Peru Foundation"

August 2007: Christopher Kim is currently a senior at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Andover's school motto is "Non Sibi", which roughly translates into "Others before self” in Latin. In keeping up with the school tradition, Chris is working towards raising money in order to help out a school in Huaycan, a very poor neighborhood near the capital city of Peru, Lima.
Chris hopes to reach out to as many people as possible in order to help raise awareness about the current situation in Huaycan, Peru. Hopefully, with as much help as possible, Chris hopes to reach his goal and to also visit the school firsthand in the future

His fundraising goal is $ 5,000.00

The "Institucion Educativa Gustavo Mohme" is a primary and secondary school in Huaycan, the poor neighborhood where our partner SamusocialPeru is very active doing important social work. SamusocialPeru recently started to see what was needed in the schools of the area. A bit more than 700 kids are going to the "Gustavo Mohme" school daily. The mornings are for the primary school (6 to 11 years old) and the afternoons for the secondary school (11 to 17 years old).

The school is in a very bad shape and needs some serious repairs. We are planning to construct a new building with 3 brand new classes. The grant will also be used to buy some needed furniture like desks for the students.

Sept. 12th, 2007: A few more checks (8), and total amount raised is now $ 1,865.00

Sept. 21rst, 2007: 6 new checks today and total amount raised is now $ 2,215.00

Oct. 6th, 2007: New total is now $ 2,490.00
