October 15th 2008: Marion Aujean is the teacher for
the CM2D class (5th Grade) of Lycee Francais de New
York (LFNY) for the year 2008-2009. Every year the
LFNY
motivates their young students to raise funds for a
charity of their choice.
The Children of Peru Foundation is very
proud to have been selected again for this year's effort!
And this year we have 2 different classes!
We offered several projects to Marion and her students.
The whole class oversaw all the projects and after
several discussions the children proceeded to vote on
the projetcs!!
The winning project is the May 2009 mission to Cuzco to
operate poor children with clefts lips and palates. The
organization who is executing these very intense trips
is MMFC ("Medical Missions For Children") with whom
we already did 2 missions to Cuzco (2007 & 2008). In
each mission, more than 100 children are screened and
between 70 and 80 receive free life changing surgery.
The class fundraising goal is $ 800
Fundraising actions undertaken by the students:
Chores around the house (setting the table, cleaning up,
moping the floor...)
Homemade cookies sold in the park
