Dear Family and Friends!
On October 31st, 2010 I will be running my second
marathon, and once again I am honored to be able to
raise funds for a great cause like the "Children of
Peru Foundation." The organization is close to my
heart not only because I was born in Peru and grew up
witnessing the harsh reality of many children in my
country but also, because the funds raised would help
provide better healthcare and education for poor
children.
Since 2006, the Children of Peru Foundation has
been dedicated to build a better future for poor
children in Peru. Examples of its commitment is their
sponsorship and partnership with: (1) Samusocial Peru,
which does a great deal of social work, educating
parents in basic hygiene concepts, helping dysfunctional
families and trying to help children suffering from
parental abuse. with Samusocial Peru, the
Children of Peru Foundation also started a program
to help fight against tuberculosis; and have financed
the construction of new classroms and buildings for
schools; (2) Medical Missions For Children (MMFC),
wich provides free quality surgical and dental services
to poor and under-privileged children; (3)
Pompiers-Sans-Frontieres & Worldvision, which
help victims of extreme cold in the Cuzco area.
My goal is to raise at least $500 for this cause.
