My mother is from Peru. Throughout my childhood and young adult years we made a few trips to Peru to visit our relatives. As an adult I made one extensive trip to Peru alone. During all these visits, I was always amazed at how kind hearted and resilient Peruvians are despite the poverty many face.

My mother left as a young adult and made a good life for herself here; therefore, here I am! I am running on behalf of the Children of Peru Foundation for the children who don't leave and deserve a chance at better healthcare and education to better their lives.
