We are currently working with
Samusocial Peru,
in Huaycan,
a pueblo joven (poor neighborhood) near Lima.
In 2006 we bought their second ambulance & we
started a program to aid fight against
tuberculosis in Huaycan.
In 2007 we continued the tuberculosis effort, we
financed a grant to a school
in Huaycan so that a new building could be
constructed.
In 2008 we intensified the tuberculosis
effort and we financed the construction of a second
building for the Huaycan school.
In 2007 we started with
MMFC (Medical
Missions for Children) as we sponsored their October 2007 mission to Cuzco when a team of 26 doctors, surgeons,
dentist & medical personnel provided free surgical & dental
services to poor kids with cleft lips and palates.
In 2008 we sponsored again the Cuzco mission (May 2008),
where more than 60 children got surgery.
This last May 2009, the 3rd mission sponsored by the Children of
Peru Foundation took place and 49 children got
surgery (60 procedures in total), including microtias.
After the August 2007
earthquake,
we financed a SamusocialPeru mission to Pisco, one
of the hardest hit city.
Specialists arrived the very next day and
participated in the emergency effort. Our team
then worked with French firemen and installed with
them a water cleaning system near Pisco.
